Covalent is on a mission to bring full transparency and visibility to all blockchain networks and we are looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to help us. Reporting directly to the Head of Developer Relations, we are looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, self-directed and enthusiastic about the blockchain space. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a fast-moving startup working with cutting-edge technology. The successful candidate would be joining at a pivotal moment in the firm's history, with the capacity for high impact at Covalent. Job Summary
Roles and Responsibilities
As Senior Database Administrator you will provide technical expertise and leadership across all levels of both technical and non-technical components. The position will require hands-on design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing management of various OLTP and OLAP database solutions, as well as emerging technologies across the organization.
Oversee data warehousing systems Design and implement database administration standards to include: security, standardization, availability/fault-tolerance, monitoring/alerting, and performance optimization Establish and execute protocols for review and enhancement of database infrastructure Assess, mitigate and manage ongoing continuous database infrastructure vulnerability enhancements at both the software and configuration levels, as well as run ongoing database infrastructure vulnerability analysis and remediation Develop, maintain, and report regularly on key metrics in the areas of database security, standardization, availability, and performance Research, test, and implement new technologies and best practices and drive innovation with regard to database infrastructure Qualifications
Strong, demonstrated database design and deployment experience in both OLTP and OLAP environments (PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, Snowflake) 5+ database management and administration experience Expertise in query optimization, table partitioning and data sharding Experience with tuning RDBMSs Willingness to engage and explore new solutions and emerging technologies in support of new opportunities Possess strong problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of how to quickly troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues that involve database infrastructure Ability to mentor co-workers in areas of technical expertise Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent work experience
