Job Summary
Republic is seeking an experienced team member for a Vice President, Brokerage role at Republic reporting to Republic’s CEO. This position also includes serving as CEO of Capital R, Republic’s broker-dealer (OpenDeal Broker LLC; FINRA | SiPC). This position will lead business development and operational activities for the broker function across multiple business groups. In this role, you will have an opportunity to expand the existing private placements business (including Reg A+, D and S offerings of equity, debt and the rights to novel digital assets), oversee the buildout of an ATS and help achieve Republic’s revenue goals while laying the foundation for operational excellence. You will also carry the vision of expanding the broker/dealer into new business lines. What you'll do Drive the broker function across all Republic business units—grow the function to become a key value center across Republic’s existing lines of business and products Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders across all business groups Drive operational controls through on-going education and communications Design and implement, in coordination with the CCO, an effective compliance program to prevent, detect and mitigate violations of all applicable law, regulation, and Republic policies Identify and create process improvement opportunities and create new procedures as required Drive technology platform development that supports growth plans Develop team to support business goals Exhibit leadership to influence and execute on institutionalizing the function in the organization Utilize knowledge of Institutional Investments developed both in the US and internationally Our ideal candidate Minimum of 8-10 years of retail, institutional investment, and private securities sales and operations experience Thorough knowledge of the broker-dealer business from a risk, product, corporate governance, compliance, operational and administrative perspective Strong knowledge and understanding of FINRA and SEC rules and regulations (including advertising rules), and other state and federal securities laws and rules applicable to broker-dealer Command of or strong interest in digital assets space including fundamental understanding of blockchain technology, key industry trends, and evolving regulatory environment Proven communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal) to interact and collaborate effectively with across the organization Experience building and executing new processes/procedures with high level of adoption Ability to interpret rules and analyze complex issues and risks in the Institutional and retail marketplaces Further ability to present solutions in a compelling way to influence business contacts. Problem solving and the ability to confront conflict and difficult issues in a professional, assertive, and proactive manner Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment Sales experience on both the retail and institutional levels Ability to build alliances with other financial institutions Proven analytical and project management skills. Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree a plus Series 7, 79 and 24 required, Series 63 a plus New York area- based preferred
