Job Summary
RESPONSIBILITIES
šStrategic Leadership: šCollaborate with the executive team to align HR strategies with the university's mission, vision, and goals, contributing to the overall success and growth of the institution. šServe as a leader and go-to partner in supporting the company's strategic plans, organizational charts, and expansion plans. šMetrics and Analytics: lead a data-driven team, implement HR metrics and analytics to track key performance indicators, provide actionable insights, and drive data-informed decision-making. šReport to the Executive team and the Board of directors on HR metrics and initiatives šPeople & Culture šCulture Cultivation: Foster an inclusive, innovative, and supportive culture reflective of our fast-paced environment, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. šTalent Acquisition and Retention: Develop innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent across various disciplines and geographies. Implement retention strategies to nurture a high-performing and engaged workforce. šPerformance Management: Design and implement performance management systems, including goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and career development initiatives to drive employee growth and productivity. šLearning and Development: Create and oversee comprehensive learning and development programs that support employee skill enhancement, career advancement, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. šEmployee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor, handling complex employee relations matters with fairness, empathy, and confidentiality, while also implementing conflict resolution strategies when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
šBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business šAdministration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. š8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on African HR policies and regulations. (knowledge of Rwanda & Mauritius laws preferred) šExperience in a leadership role, preferably as a VP or Director, managing HR functions in a multi-location organization. šProven track record of designing and implementing HR programs, systems, and processes that drive organizational growth and efficiency. šStrong understanding of talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, and employee relations practices. šExcellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures. šStrategic thinker with analytical abilities, capable of translating data into actionable HR initiatives.
