Cogni is hiring a Sr SW Engineer to lead our innovative and groundbreaking fintech platforms.

Cogni is a technology startup revolutionizing the distribution of fintech products and services backed by digital banking. Checking, credit and commerce is an expensive and inefficient patchwork of services, while traditional channels for direct-to-consumer goods are ineffective and expensive which are typically passed onto customers. We’ve recently launched our free debit account and are now building a banking platform with freemium services and integrated commerce and a whole suite of exciting products in stealth mode with the intention to disrupt the 1 Trillion (by 2025) industry.

As a Senior engineer you will be one of the founding engineers to join the team and will have the opportunity to help build a new platform and services from the ground up as well as scale the current systems for growth.

Tech Stack includes Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, Mongo, Redshift, Python, NodeJS

You are a passionate engineer with great desire to build complex distributed systems, microservices, database designs, frameworks and algorithms. This role provides an excellent opportunity and autonomy to shape the platform and services for the company by supporting unique and differentiated capabilities. Previous experience working for an early stage startup is a huge plus.

What you’ll be doing Work closely with engineering teams to build scalable consumer-facing experiences Curious mind who has a passion for discovering our customer needs and creating value through product innovation Strong desire to take on ownership of the backend services including operations, maintenance and reliability of systems Ability to distill ambiguity into actionable plans, and work independently without supervision Identify opportunities to advance the existing software, infrastructure and technology as well as improve the engineering productivity. Raise the bar for the engineering organization by developing highly available, secure, compliant and scalable software. Mentor the engineers to maintain high quality by conducting strong code reviews with constructive feedback. What you’ll need to have Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of experience in Systems, DevOps or Site Reliability based roles Over 3 years of experience developing internet scale distributed systems Polyglot with exceptional experience in programming languages like Go, Java, Python, Node etc. Experience with various AWS services like ECS, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena, EKS, etc Deep understanding of microservices architecture to support a high number of users for mobile and web applications. Cloud architecture expertise with AWS and container based deployments using Kubernetes.
