About The Role

Limit Break is looking for a Senior Mobile Game Level Designer with a strong cinematics background to join our team of experienced developers working on an exciting new IP. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling levels, creating compelling story moments inside the game engine, while collaborating closely with the writing, animation, and level design teams.

Responsibilities. What You’ll Do

Help Design game levels, stories, quests and cutscenes within levels Collaborate with the writing & design teams to develop scripts and designs into in game real-time scenes and utilizing visual narrative design techniques. Define/Assemble/Create in-engine cinematics for specific story beats and action key moments of the project in Unity. Ability to assemble a wide assortment of assets (models, characters, animations, VFX, Audio, Gameplay, Narrative and more) in the Unity engine. Understanding of cinematography and adding and moving cameras smoothly and artistically. Understanding of timing, motion, and creating interesting scenes. Ability to work with all departments to ensure all the assets are being properly specified, created, and are ready for production and implementation. Work closely with the Writers, Audio, Creative, Tech Art, Artists, Animators and Game Designers to create fun levels and experiences. Follow and maintain pipelines and technical requirements.

Requirements. Who You Are And What You’ve Done

5+ years of experience working in the video games industry as a Level Designer or Cinematic Designer/Artist. Ability to design and implement interesting and fun levels with varied player experiences. Expert using Unity to build/create game levels and worlds A good knowledge of in-engine sequencers. (Unity 3D Engine is a plus) VERY strong technical implementation knowledge and scripting experience. Experience with character and camera animation in 3D software. Ability to create first pass stories and quests and work with writers to refine them. Good knowledge of cinematography and acting. Aware of new technologies and processes related to the industry. Ability to work with people from other fields of expertise. Excellent communication skills and abilities to work efficiently within a team. Self-sufficient and resourceful; able to identify and work with technical constraints.

Good understanding of and ability to tweak or implement animations, VFX, lighting, and other assets as needed. You are excited to utilize new technologies and design novel games for a new market of players.
