What you'll do

šŸ“Embed with cross-functional teams to build, launch, market, and operate new fintech products šŸ“Structure and negotiate complex partnerships with financial institutions, payment services providers, technology platforms and other entities that provide or support financial services šŸ“Support marketing teams, develop content policies, and review marketing collateral šŸ“Provide guidance on state, federal and international regulatory, privacy, intellectual property, and other legal issues, and their implications on product development and marketing strategies šŸ“Draft product terms of use šŸ“Understand and advise on licensing and compliance issues šŸ“Help select and manage outside counsel

What you'll need

šŸ“J.D. with a strong academic background and the highest level of integrity šŸ“Membership in at least one state bar (NY or CA preferred); if not licensed in the state where you will be based, ability to register as in-house counsel šŸ“At least 3-5 years of legal experience šŸ“Experience as product or regulatory counsel for a fintech or technology company, and/or at a top law firm, preferred šŸ“Desire to learn quickly, work collaboratively, take ownership, and act as a legal generalist šŸ“Ability to understand complex business and regulatory issues and translate them into actionable guidance šŸ“Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously, and manage resource allocation to focus on the highest-priority needs
