Job Summary
Lead Product Manager ⚡ Commercial Payments Platform Africa-Remote $80-90K USD (or local equivalent) Base + Bonus + Perks
Who they are: Come and join a fast-growing Consumer payments start-up (recent Series D), that’s on a mission to increase economic inclusion by helping small and medium-sized businesses grow across West and South Africa. My client is currently going through a scale-up phase and looking to add Product Managers with a passion for the B2B lending space, to their expanding Product department.
What they’re looking for: As their next Lead Product Manager, they'll task you with developing your own roadmap for their B2B payments commerce platform, using your experience to decide which features to add, to scale their user base. You'll directly spearhead the growth, profitability, and regulatory compliance of your consumer app product and its upcoming features. You will be partnering with risk, compliance, marketing, engineering, design, analytics, and operations teams to build and scale your app, collaboratively and inclusively. Prior experience scaling a global B2B commerce payments product, e.g. at a retailer or FinTech startup, would be a plus for my client.
What you’ll be doing: · Establish a shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to a short-term and long-term product roadmap · Inform product decisions with quantitative and qualitative data on customer behavior and experimentation to prioritize your roadmap (e.g. a/b testing, survey data, usability studies) · Leading execution with the engineering team to prioritize competing tactical and strategic items into a backlog · Author requirements and feature documentation and manage the day-to-day ceremonies, from planning to sprints to stand-ups and retros, to execute against your roadmap · Partner with risk, compliance, marketing, engineering, design, analytics, and operations teams to build software collaboratively and inclusively · Follow written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities · Evaluate competitive landscape and stay informed of latest trends in Fintech and B2B lending in general
What you’ll need: · Experience in the B2B lending or FinTech space more widely · A hands-on, “scrappy” management style · Experience conducting user research to educate product design · Strong analytical skills, competence in SQL, and experience with tools for doing data analysis · Ability to synthesize · Experience creating a roadmap, working with partner teams to drive consensus and execution
