Job Summary
Responsibilities:
šLead the design and development of mechanical systems and components, from concept to final product implementation. šConduct engineering analysis, calculations, and simulations to ensure the integrity and performance of mechanical designs. šCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to integrate mechanical systems with overall product designs. šProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, assisting with problem-solving and professional development. šParticipate in design reviews, risk assessments, and project planning meetings to ensure project objectives are met. šDevelop and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test procedures. šPerform hands-on testing and validation of mechanical designs, including prototype fabrication and testing. šStay current with industry trends, standards, and best practices in mechanical engineering, and apply them to project designs and processes. šCollaborate with external vendors and suppliers to source components and materials for mechanical systems. šEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for mechanical designs and products.
Requirements
šBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred. š7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on product design and development. šProficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and finite element analysis tools. šStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to design and optimize mechanical systems. šExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. šProven leadership experience, with the ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers. šKnowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanical engineering, such as ASME, ANSI, and ISO. šExperience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles. šFamiliarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) software and processes. šProfessional engineering (PE) license is a plus.
