Job Summary
Technical Skills:
šEvaluate customer contracts for non-standard terms and conditions that have revenue recognition implications and document the proper revenue accounting treatments in collaboration with Technical Accounting. šApply advanced skills in Google Sheets to efficiently and reliably work with large data sets. šComplexity and Impact of Work: šPartner closely with billing/AR team members to facilitate a timely month-end close, with specific focus on revenue recognition journal entries. šInterface with Legal and Sales to ensure consideration of revenue recognition outcomes in the negotiation phase of new contracts. šIdentify opportunities for process improvement in revenue accounting procedures and support initiatives to implement enhancements.
Organizational Knowledge:
šConsult with business unit management teams to deeply understand near and longer term plans for new product and revenue streams and to Implement new pricing/contract structures, providing guidance on revenue optimization opportunities and risk mitigation strategies. šConduct comprehensive revenue analysis and act as a key point of contact for the FP&A team on revenue matters.
Communication and Influence:
šStandardize and document processes with an intentional approach to create shared consciousness and eliminate single points of failure. šAssist with internal and external audit processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. šAbility to document and communicate accounting procedures in a way that enables data engineering teams to support automation efforts.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
š6+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience in technical revenue accounting. šFluency in ASC 606 and the ability to research complex accounting issues in partnership with technical accounting team members. šA proven track record of designing processes to operationalize and scale technical revenue accounting conclusions for complex contracts. šExcellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to drive cross functional projects and influence cross functional stakeholders, including GTM organizations and engineering teams. šProficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. šAbility to multi-task, thrive in the face of ambiguity and excel in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization.
