Job Summary
WHAT YOU WILL DO: (List primary responsibilities in order of most importance)
šLead and mentor a talented team of desktop engineers and data center professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. šEmpower your team to design, implement, and maintain robust desktop solutions and data center operations that meet the evolving needs of our organization. šCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies seamlessly into both desktop and data center environments. Stay ahead of industry trends, evaluating and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency, reliability, and user experience. šOversee the day-to-day operations of our data centers, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability. Implement best practices for data center management, including monitoring, maintenance, and disaster recovery protocols. šPrioritize and enforce cybersecurity measures for both desktop and data center environments to safeguard our systems and data. Collaborate with security experts to implement and maintain robust security protocols, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. šStreamline and optimize desktop and data center workflows to enhance productivity and user satisfaction. Implement automation solutions where applicable, reducing manual intervention and increasing the overall efficiency of our operations. šDevelop and implement proactive measures for identifying and resolving desktop and data center-related incidents. Collaborate with support teams to ensure swift troubleshooting and resolution, minimizing downtime and disruptions. šWork closely with the finance department to develop and manage the desktop engineering and data center budget. Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and deliver exceptional results within financial constraints. šBuild and maintain effective relationships with vendors and external partners for both desktop and data center solutions. Evaluate third-party offerings, negotiate contracts, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services. šEstablish comprehensive documentation processes for desktop configurations, procedures, and data center operations. Provide ongoing training to end-users and support teams, ensuring a knowledgeable and capable user community. šImplement a culture of continuous improvement, regularly assessing desktop and data center processes and performance. Foster a mindset of adaptability and innovation within the team, driving enhancements and optimizations across both environments.
Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications to qualify for the role)
šBachelorās degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus. šMinimum of 8 years of progressive experience in desktop engineering, data center operations, and IT management. šProven track record of successful leadership in a technology-driven environment, preferably within a startup or rapidly growing organization. šIn-depth knowledge of desktop engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices. šExtensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data center operations. šStrong leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire a high-performing team. šExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and external partners. šAbility to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. šA proactive mindset with a passion for staying abreast of industry trends and implementing innovative solutions. šDemonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
